Trauma Sensitive Yoga
Trauma Sensitive Yoga is an evidence-based practice for trauma and can be supportive for anybody who experiences stress, anxiety, depression, body concerns, physical health concerns and other mental health concerns.
Utilising traditional yoga-based movements, however not focussing on doing a pose “correctly”, rather how you feel internally. This fosters a way to safely explore and re-connect with your body, incorporating mindfulness and awareness practices in a way that facilitates choice and empowerment.

These classes can be a powerful exploration of our bodies, especially for those of us who have experienced trauma or who are living with disability.

Our Trauma Sensitive Yoga classes and individual sessions are accessible and can be undertaken by people of all ages and experiences. We adapt our classes to support people with disability.
Diversional/ Recreational Therapy Group Activities
Recreational Therapy is a client centred practice recognising that leisure and recreational experiences are the right of all individual, of all ages and abilities. Diversional therapy practitioners design and facilitate leisure and recreation programmes focused on enhancing the psychological, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of individuals.
Vital Health & Wellbeing recognises the importance of participation and connection. We develop, build and facilitate small groups for people aged over 65, bringing together people with common interests and experience to enjoy a fortnightly or monthly recreational activity. This may include horticultural therapy, art therapy, gentle stretching and yoga, crafting and creating memory books, music, or other culturally-specific activities. Light refreshments and time to connect and engage are available at every session.
If you would like to express an interest in joining a group, or if you would like to share your ideas, please contact us. We need a minimum of 8 participants to start a group, so consider discussing with your family and friends.
