I just want to say a big thank you to Violet. I visited Violet after receiving very high cholesterol readings and being given 3 months to control them before being put on cholesterol medication at age 36. As my high cholesterol readings were hereditary and I had a fairly good diet, I was unsure how successful I would be at lowering my levels without the use of medication. During my consultations with Violet she also advised she believed I was insulin resistant – which explained a number of other symptoms I had – this diagnosis was then confirmed with blood tests.
After following Violet's advice for 3 months, I met with a specialist who advised that not only were my cholesterol and triglyceride levels now within the normal range, but if I continued to follow Violets advice he would predict that I would never have a need for any cholesterol medication – an amazing result considering 3 months earlier it seemed to be a given I would need the medication if not now, then soon in the future.
On a side note, after following Violets advice which included a low GI diet, advice on what to add and take away from my diet and some supplements, I also noted the following:

Our son was having re-occurring secondary infections after a runny nose every 4-6 weeks for almost 12 months. He was constantly on antibiotics to clear his constant chest/ear infections, about a week to 10 days after the antibiotics were finished he would get a runny nose again, hence the antibiotic cycle. I was concerned at how he was on antibiotics and the fact he got sick so soon after stopping a course.
Many people told me it was normal how often he got sick because he was in daycare. But I knew my son and knew something wasn't quite right and I went by my own mothers instinct and did some research and I thought the problems could possibly be allergy related. I spoke to our GP and a Pediatrician who sent him for allergy skin prick testing at a children's hospital in Sydney
We got the results back and he was not allergic to grass, nor cat hair, horse hair, feathers, dust mites, mould spores or any of the allergens he was tested for. I visited Violet at Vital Health Care Centre at Sutherland and explained my concerns with them. Violet made some suggestions and sent us with a list of Pathology requests to our GP.
A few days after the blood tests our GP informs us that Kurt has tested positive to Coeliacs disease, a condition my mother was diagnosed with. Some months later, my son has been on a strict Gluten free diet. The runny nose has come and gone from what I suspected as a common cold, he has not developed any infections or fevers or had one single visit to the doctor for a chest or ear infection.
Thanks to Violet for listening to me and sending us to our GP for blood tests, we would not have known of his condition or that by omitting gluten from his diet what a difference it has made to his health and well-being.
