Bio:
Mei-Ling came to yoga as a form of stress relief six years ago. She was far from flexible and years working in an office sitting at a computer meant that she could no longer touch her toes! However what she found in yoga was a holistic practice which could be tailored to the individual, that provided an outlet for relieving stress as well as a way of bringing her life into balance. Regular practice has given Mei-Ling a sense of calm and mindfulness in all that she does and believes that yoga can benefit anyone
In 2009 Mei-Ling took the next step and completed yoga teacher training at Samadhi Yoga in Newtown. She has been teaching ever since and has taught in a variety of community halls, gyms and corporate settings before coming to Vital Health Care Centre. Mei-Ling's love for teaching yoga continues to grow, and has since attended workshops by international yoga teachers Donna Farhi (NZ), and Sharon Gannon and David Life (founders of Jivamukti Yoga, USA), as well as completing pregnancy teacher training at Samadhi Yoga, kids yoga teacher training with Mini Yogis and yoga therapy training with Byron Yoga Centre.
As a teacher Mei-Ling is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with her students. She teaches classes which are uplifting and fun, incorporating asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath control exercises) and meditation as well as music, to inspire the practice. In addition, she provides individual attention to her students, offering hands-on adjustments to promote correct alignment and deep stretches as well as small class sizes to ensure a safe and personalised experience.
