Bio:
Matty is a remedial massage therapist with a history of sporting achievements and sporting injuries. It was as a junior athlete that he became increasingly aware of the crucial role played by massage therapists everywhere.
Matty has completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage at the esteemed Karuna College of Massage Therapies, which specialises in remedial and sports massage. His treatments incorporate trigger point therapy, Chinese cupping and cryotherapy and are particularly well suited to athletes, both amateur and professional. Matty's experience at various sporting clubs as a clinical therapist has shaped his dynamic and effective treatments.
However, Matty's expertise is not limited to just athletes. Matty integrates somatics, posture/stretching, reflexology and Swedish massage to provide a holistic treatment suitable for the whole family.
Matty's heightened awareness of holistic health care has blossomed over the years through his studies of martial arts and yoga. As a robust outdoorsman Matty has found through experience that the key stone to his own practices of good tissue maintenance and nutrition allow him to tackle life with such vigour thus enabling him to share these qualities with the community.
Utilizing a meditative approach with an emphasis on the breath it is here that Matty's focus and presence set him apart from the crowd. Massage with Matty is not at all a passive undertaking but an active and intuitive exercise in which Matty helps his clients achieve maximum benefits by raising their own awareness of any particular condition. By actively partaking in the treatments the client finds them selves working along side Matty which instils a crucial dynamic of cooperation and self-empowerment.
Outside of massage, Matty is a musician who composes and performs on the live music scene through out Australia. Engaging audiences of various backgrounds has given Matty great people skills. Some of which has led him to spend time as a youth worker in a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory.
